Lucas Zafiris is Montreal-based painter and artist. With roots in Greece, Denmark and Canada, Lucas’s diverse background has shaped the way he communicates and expresses his inner universe.

Having been distinguished with student awards and encouraged by his teachers from an early age, he continued to evolve and develop his craft throughout the years.

During his years getting a formal education in illustration, Zafiris’s drawing and observation skills matured, while at the same time allowing himself to explore the potential of a variety of media.

Having chosen oil painting as his preffered medium for its challenging yet forgiving qualities, Zafiris explores the human condition through evocative paintings, devoid of any pretence. He finds joy in the unknown and embraces chance and accidents, always trying to ensure the idea of craft is not lost in abstraction.
